They wouldn't start a series such as this (with the author so involved) just to cancel it.

    I so hope not. Theres been shows in the past that networks have thrown loads of money into developing, then canceled after a few seasons though. I’m hoping this isn’t one of them. Regardless, They’ve still got quite a few books to get through before they hit where the end of the story is today (book-wise). George R.R. Martin has to be on his game though… It’s taken him 6 and 5 years to publish his last two books respectively… and while I feel he should take all the time he needs to make them everything he wants them to be. He also has to take into consideration that hes 64 years old himself, and he may not have another 15 years ahead of him to finish his life’s masterpiece :(. I’m just saying that this series (the books and show) could either go down as one of the great epics of our time if it’s finished… Or the great epic that never really made it. A Dance with Dragons took 6 years to complete, and it’s 1040 pages long. He’s already said that for the last two books, he would like them to be around 1500 manuscript pages each… Hopefully the show and seeing his literature come to life on set will inspire him to complete the story. It’s an amazing world hes created, and it would be a shame to see it die incomplete.

    I’m slightly pissed. The last two books in the series isn’t published yet, and hes estimated they’ll take 3 years. Each. With the fans of his previous books furious because he constantly told them “just a few more months” for a few years… Theres absolutely no way HBO will keep the GoT tv series going for years while they wait for the last two books to be published. Fuck. Did anyone else know this? :(
